Lower Paleolithic age tools and implements

  1. During the lower paleolithic age, tools were based on striking technology.
  2. They were core tools.
  3. In this technology, a bigger stone piece was hit by other stone peace and the outer layer was removed and the inner part used as a tool.

Middle Paleolithic age tools and implements

  1. During the middle paleolithic age, flake technology was used for making tools and implements.
  2. In this technology, the outer layer removed from a bigger stone piece and was used as a tool.

Upper Paleolithic age tools and implements

  1. During the upper paleolithic age, tools were based on blade technology. These tools are sharp edges. One edge of stone was sharpened by hitting it by another stone.
  2. The tools made up of wood were also used.
  3. For the first time during the upper paleolithic age, bone tools were also used. Antlers Horne was used as a tool.
  4. A large number of bone tools having found from Vilas Ragam cave located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.

Mesolithic age tools and implements

  1. During the Mesolithic age, a better variety of quartz stone such as chert, jasper, flint was used for making tools.
  2. The tools of this age are very small in size.
  3. The characteristics tool of this age is about 8cm in size.
  4. They are known as microliths (small stone tools). It was used for hunting and food gathering.
  5. These tools used as arrowhead, spearhead and etc.

Neolithic age tools and implements

  1. During the Neolithic age, igneous stone was used for making tools. Because of this, the tools of the Neolithic age much stronger than in earlier periods.
  2. During this age for the first man used celt (tools with handle). Use of handle made tool much more efficient and effective. This indicates that neolithic man was aware of the principle of torque.
  3. Tools of the Neolithic age were based on the technology of grinding and polishing. As a result of this, tools of this age were highly refined.
